Book review: Harriet Chance

Finished this last night so here is the review. So, i'm not that good when it comes
to me rambling about a book because it will turn out bad
and in the end I just found myself talking nonsense
and being clueless at the same time.

Yup i'm a girl that likes structured stuff.
Short but concise.

I know I should paste the synopsis from Goodreads here but I am too lazy oh God.
Guys, please forgive me and try to search the
synopsis will ya ?
Thank you

So, let us start with me telling you important bits
from this book:

Harriet is a 78 years old lady and she lives alone. Her daughter and her son visit her occasionally

But, she has a friend, old, just like her. Her best friend. (the name starts with M but I forgot duhh)

At
first, have no feelings towards M. Like, neutral. But in the end.. (lets wait)

Her late husband was not a really good father or life partner to Harriet, but she still loves him anyway. and.. due to that fact, she could still speak to him (his spirit)

Honestly guys, this book got be dumbfounded ! I could never
belief this is the ending

I could never predict that Harriet has been keeping
all the secrets for years !!

So.. enjoy my review :)

Harriet went to a cruise that her husband booked for them ( ughh thats what i thought at first ).

She is supposed to go with her bff (ughh) but then M bailed out- but she left her a letter

I FREAKING WANNA KILL M WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT SHE'S BEEN CHEATING WITH HARRIET'S HUSBAND FOR 40 YEARS ! DAMN IT.

AND TO MAKE THINGS WORST, THE CRUISE WAS MEANT FOR HER, NOT HARRIET

even though when they met, M did not know his wife is her bff-to-be  and although M loves Harriet and their friendship- I JUST CANNOT ACCEPT IT

so, life goes on and Harriet try to enjoy the cruise nevertheless and things get more exciting when her daughter made a surprise by joining her

---------------one more shocking news guys --------------------

HER DAUGHTER'S FATHER IS NOT HIS HUSBAND
OMG

and she has been keeping that secret for 78 years ! no one know. How can she handle it !!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

and what make it more like i wanna cry and punch the wall is it's his own uncle. How could he ? you know when you see your niece is having a bad times with her marriage, you help her ! not become a one night stand

she has been sexually harassed by his own uncle when she was young- silently and cautiously I must say
she cannot admit that, up until now.

The story ends with a sense of closure. All people around her- her husband's spirit and her daughter
told her to let it go. Let it all go. cause what is done cannot be
undone.
So yeah, she sets herself free and breathed her last breath.

Book recommendation: Austenland

From my last post I think you could have guessed that I am a fan of Jane Austen.
Now, this post will convince you more- I hope so.

So, when I was little my mom bought me those Junior Reads books
you see in the picture. She bought all of Jane Austen's and also Charles Dickens ones.
I gotta tell you that those babies are great for beginners ! I started to fall
in love with Jane Austen's works after I read all of them.
So, for mothers out there, this is a good start to
let your children love and appreciate classics.
and I gotta admit that I still go through them
once in a while- to gain back that passion.

Now lets get to the business shall we?

Austenland

This is for Jane Austen fans duh !
Well yeah if you love Jane Austen and really wish that
a place where you could live like you are just in
Austen's books, exist
then, you should definitely read this one.

My favourite classic

OMG only God knows how I adore this masterpiece by Jane Austen.
If anyone ever ask me which classic that I like the most the answer will always be this one.

Emma is literally me. Like I want me to be her. Just like her.
She is a female character that does not even think of being head over heels in love with someone.
She is very bright and loves to paint.
I guess thats why I feel connected to her. We both have the same view of the surroundings.
But well of course they are certain things that I disagree on.

But, this baby right here will always be my favs.
Did I mention I watched the movies almost hundred times ?
I just watched it an hour ago fyi.
Totally, a masterpiece.

Book recommendation: Of Love and Other Demons

Trying to read something different that the usual genre or plot ?

Want to know more about other cultures in the world ?

Ready to be a bit out of mind thinking of what actually happens ?

Not scared of anything ?

Sick of any cliche love stories that has a perfect happy ending ?

AHA ! You should probably try this one mate. Honestly, I went a bit crazy that week.
But it is worth it. I get to know something I never think off.

Book Review: Saving Grace

I did not expect this book to be so interesting to me as I bought it because the cover is freaking gorgeous !!!

This is my first read about a main character that has a mental illness history and to my amaze, I am very connected with the main character in this book and the story too.

Grace is a lady married with a famous writer and living their live luxuriously with a daughter. She is respected and idolized by the way she charmed people and of course, her cooking skills !
Well that's what on the outside.

With time, Grace life is deteriorating. She is like in a refugee, keep on hiding her scars. Her husband is always angry all the time and she cannot handle that situation. Only his husband PA could do that. Thank God he had a good one that is good with helping Grace too. So all is well. But life has it's own way to pick on us doesn't it?

When her husband's PA is resigning for a serious family matter, she is lost.

Her husband's new PA seems to be mmmm.. more that a PA- she seems like she is taking in charge of everything, including Grace's life.

At this moment, all of the past incidents that Grace is trying to run away from, keep coming back to her. Does Grace really is  having a mental disorder ?

Book recommendation: Starry Night & Mosquitoland

Starry Night

PERFECT for readers that are looking for a calming yet full of surprise kinda love stories. I freaking LOVE it !!! It is cliche of course duh but not in a bad way. Get what I mean ?

Mosquitoland

It is a journey of a life time.
Her parents divorced. She thinks badly bout her new mom. and now she embarks on a journey back to her mother whom from what she accidentally heard, is sick.
Also, this is my second book that has mental illness character in it. I like it. We need to get to know this situation more nowadays. Why people treat it like it is a laughing matter (especially in my country) when it is not ?

My babies

To be honest I don't have that much of books compared to others I met at bookstagram but I am so blessed for every wonderful books that I have. I really an not that people who just pick the books I saw. I always check them thoroughly first. Well just to ensure I will not regret.
